Know Before You Go!

Picture

Park rules established by DeKalb County are posted at the Park.
The Friends of Briarlake Forest Park group does not have power or authority
to enforce Dekalb County rules.
We kindly ask that you comply!

For Emergency Assistance, please dial 911.
For non life-threatening problems, contact DeKalb Police at 678.406.7929
Our Park Ranger is Sgt. Lambotte: jhlambotte@dekalbcountyga.gov

As we get used to our new pavilion, please be aware of the following:

*There are planters around the periphery of the pavilion that have not been completed and are not filled in yet.
They are currently covered with wooden lattice, but the material is not strong enough to support a child's weight. Please use caution around those areas surrounding the pavilion at floor level.

*The large tree structure that we call the "elf house" located near the top of the central trail is made of concrete,
with a plexiglass roof, and is actually a storage shed for garden tools.

It is not a climbing structure.
Please do not allow children to climb that structure
for fear of falling, or falling through (It is locked on the outside).

*The birdbaths provide water for birds and small mammals, and
the park is a wildlife sanctuary, we take care of their habitat.
Please do not allow kids to put rocks, sticks and dirt in the birdbaths.
It is not a sanitary place for kids to play.

*Above all, as a friendly reminder, it is important to supervise children at all times in the park,
so that everyone has a good time and stays safe.

*And, of course, please leave whatever area you use in at least as good shape as you found it.
Good stewardship of our park will keep it safe and happy for everyone!
